What is it about getting through different levels of on-line games that keeps individuals so attentive?  Could there be something in the gaming mindset, with both online and traditional board and card games, that we can transfer to student learning, and are there games we can use in the classroom and on-line that would teach content and build critical thinking in effective ways? You bet!  Consider physical movement as well: There is nothing in our curriculum that is so abstract that we cannot, "physicalize," it, and in that physicalization, students remember it well. Students in primary grades need to move or shift activity about every 6-7 minutes in order to maintain focus, and in secondary classes, it’s every 10 to 15 minutes. So, let’s enhance instruction by providing opportunities for games and physical movement in subjects not usually associated with games and movement.  Join us for an high-energy and active workshop in which we explore ways to incorporate games and movement into academia, and academia into games and movement. Skydiving optional, but highly recommended!
