Creativity can atrophy when teaching the same thing year after year, and it can certainly erode in anxious students just trying to survive the day and jump through multiple teachers’ “hoops” of expectations.  Some of us seem to have lost our creative selves, harumphing at our more agile, versatile colleagues who, along with their students, are excited by the learning at hand.  As Maya Angelou said, however, we can’t use up creativity: the more we use, the more we have. Let’s turn one’s waning creativity around, thinking divergently, finding positive solutions to vexing problems, discovering joy, and building intellect! Join us for a powerful session that provides specific strategies and insights for how to build teachers' and students’ personal/professional creativity, emancipating instructional ideas tethered by conventional thinking.  With many of our challenges resolved constructively, students and teachers are engaged and they achieve their goals as a result. Special cameo appearances by innovation, connective synergy, improvisation, and assorted strangeness.
