Multilingualism is an asset and a resource that can be leveraged in the classroom. Learning how to make space for students’ multilingual language practices will promote student identity, self-worth, and academic success in the classroom. This session will look at the benefits of planning for the intentional use of students’ home language in the content areas. We will provide an interactive approach to adapting strategies that incorporate home language and culture in targeted content areas.
